ABOUT THE TOUR

The sasak tour of Mataram Lombok typically starts from from Banyumulek, continues to Sukarara Village, Rembitan Village (Sade), and finally at Kuta Mandalika (Kuta Beach, Tanjung Aan Beach and Merese Hill).

The tour will take about 10 hours, including shuttle time (pick-up and return). You will be picked up by car or other transportation according to the number of participants in your group.

Banyumulek

Banyumulek is the largest pottery industry center on Lombok since the 1990s, around 80% of the villagers are involved in the work. Along the village road, you will find many galleries and pottery shops on both sides of the road. You can find a variety of pottery with more complete variants ranging from size, shape, color, decorative motifs, uniqueness, or varied functions. Banyumulek is also one of the attractions on Lombok, here you can see firsthand the process of making pottery crafts.

Sukarara

Sukarara is one of the famous tourist villages in Lombok. The villagers have self-awareness to preserve traditional Lombok songket weaving. You can find a variety of songket fabrics with sizes, shapes, colors, decorative motifs, uniqueness, to varied functions. Here you can see firsthand the process of making songket fabric by traditionally woven. Another thing that you can find here is the uniqueness of the Sasak Tribe traditional house architecture that is shaped like a mountain, the roof is made of straw and the walls are made of lightweight woven bamboo.

Rembitan (Sade)

Rembitan Village or better known as Sade Village is one of the most popular tourist village destinations in Lombok. The people in this village have a life while still maintaining their original culture, not much different from the villagers of Sukarara village. But they are very open with newcomers who want to see their way of life. Here you can see firsthand the process of making songket fabrics that are woven traditionally with sizes, shapes, colors, decorative motifs, uniqueness, or varied functions. Most of their livelihoods are farming and the women generally work as Songket weavers who later they can sell it to tourists, the prices are according to their motives, materials, and levels of difficulty. Another thing that you can find here is the uniqueness of the Sasak Tribe traditional house architecture that is shaped like a mountain, the roof is made of straw and the walls are made of lightweight woven bamboo.

Kuta Mandalika - Tanjung Aan - Merese Hill
